Konus Konusnova 114 D114 F500 Reflector Telescope
The Konus KonusNova-114 f/3.8 AZ Reflector Telescope makes an ideal entry-level instrument, with a large-aperture primary mirror that is well-suited for making detailed observations of the moon and planets; and bright deep-sky objects like star clusters, binary systems, and nebulae. Supporting the optical tube is a basic manual alt-azimuth mount and an adjustable-height aluminum tripod. This observation kit comes complete with two eyepieces that provide low 25x and moderate 62.5x magnifications with a moon filter, a universal smartphone adapter, 2x Barlow lens, and an unmagnified red-dot finder to make locating objects easier and star-hopping navigation faster.
Optical Tube Assembly
- Large 114mm f/4.3 aperture to view the moon, planets, stars and clusters, and other bright deep space objects
- Short 500mm focal length ensures a wide field of view and low magnification potential
- Newtonian reflector configuration enables large apertures at a lower cost than conventional refractor designs
- Sturdy and reliable rack-and-pinion focuser
- 1.25" drawtube accepts the most common eyepieces and accessories
Mount and Tripod
- Manual alt-azimuth
- Single arm fork mount is solid yet lightweight
- Lightweight and durable aluminum
- Adjustable height from 31 to 48" accommodates a variety of users and observing positions
- Center tray holds accessories such as eyepieces and filters
Included Accessories
- Quickly capture photos and video of your favorite celestial objects and easily post or share
- Universal fit accommodates most popular models
- Adjustable lens placement for proper alignment
- 1.25" diameter barrel
- Accepts most 1.25" astronomical filters
- 8mm eyepiece yields a high 62.5x power for making detailed observations of the moon and planets
- 20mm eyepiece produces 25x magnification, which is perfect for large deep-sky objects like constellations and nebulae
- Installs into the front of each eyepiece
- Neutral density filter improves contrast, especially of craters and mountains
- Reduces the brightness of the moon for safe viewing
- Useful from first quarter through full into the last quarter phase
- Installs in the focuser and accepts any 1.25" eyepiece
- Effectively doubles the magnification of any eyepiece used with it
- Increases magnification without affecting eye relief, making high-power viewing more comfortable than using extremely short focal length eyepieces
- Unmagnified view ensures faster alignment and easier star-hopping navigation
- Simple red aiming dot won't obstruct small or dim objects
- Adjustable brightness won't interfere with night-adjusted vision
- Includes mounting bracket
